Marcia Brown, Minister
Marcia is an ordained Unity minister who has guided the UCJ since 2015 but who has been involved in the Unity Movement for 37 years. She was initially inspired and mentored by Rev. Jack Boland, a dynamic and beloved Unity minister, after her family had experienced a tragedy.
Marcia is the mother of five adult children and grandmother of six grandchildren. Marcia has a great love for children and keeps them central to her ministry. Marcia is a 2019 ministerial graduate, having begun her divinity studies at the Unity Urban Ministerial School in Detroit and completing them with Unity Worldwide in Kansas City, the home of Unity Church of Practical Christianity.
What Marcia loves about Unity is the simple yet profoundly powerful Five Basic Principles we embrace. Marcia declares, “In Unity we focus on each person’s strengths!”
Susie Moore, Youth Education Director
Susie Moore energetically and enthusiastically leads our Children’s Church which spans Infant Nursery to Youth of Unity (YOU), our high school group. Every Sunday includes interactive music, art, and age-appropriate lessons in Truth. Our teens participate in service projects and attend Unity rallies and conferences. Susie heads up lots of special activities, such as Easter Egg Hunts, Halloween Carnivals, and our annual Polar Express Pajama Party at Christmas that includes a visit from Mr. & Mrs. Claus. The children and parents love Susie and our volunteer teachers from our church family, and love coming to Children’s Church!
